GROAD Grassroots Network is the heart of our community action, a local movement driven by generosity, dignity, and solidarity. Since 2020, we’ve opened our doors at St Faith’s Community Centre and Edward Alleyn Club in South London to welcome families, refugees, and vulnerable individuals with weekly access to donated clothing, household goods, toys, and books. These drop-in hubs are more than donation points, they’re trusted spaces where neighbours support neighbours, and where no one is turned away. By creating multiple collection and distribution points, we’ve expanded our reach while staying rooted in community values and environmental care.

Our network operates at a neighbourhood level, using shared spaces, community centres, and local clubs to run donation drives, redistribution hubs, and engagement events, all centred on compassion, sustainability, and mutual aid.

What We Do?

Every week, we provide direct support to vulnerable families, refugees, and those facing hardship by redistributing pre-loved clothes, household items, shoes, toys, books, and more, free of charge. Donations are collected and sorted at our community hubs, where beneficiaries are invited to access the items they need in a dignified and welcoming environment.

Our Community Hubs

We operate out of two main locations:
  • St Faith's Community Centre
Red Post Hill, London SE24 9JQ
This is our original community hub, where we run Open House sessions and host weekly donation drop-offs every Sunday from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM.

  • The Edward Alleyn Club
    83–85 Burbage Road, London SE24 9HD
Due to the growing generosity of local residents, we were invited to use this additional space to facilitate overflow donations. It serves as an extension of our core community efforts.

Why It Matters?

Our grassroots model isn’t just about giving away items, it’s about:

  • Creating dignified access for those in crisis

  • Reducing waste through reuse and redistribution

  • Strengthening community connection

  • Empowering residents to take part in sustainable, mutual aid systems

Every donation and every act of kindness contributes to a more circular, compassionate community.
