Who We Are?
Get Rid of and Donate CIC (GROAD) is an environmental non-profit organisation dedicated to reducing domestic and commercial waste by promoting re-use, recycling and social responsibility.
We exist to support vulnerable individuals and families by redistributing quality donated items such as clothing, shoes, household goods, and everyday essentials, through a sustainable, circular model.
Our approach is both environmental and humanitarian: by extending the life cycle of everyday items, we reduce landfill waste and carbon emissions while directly helping those in need across South London and beyond.
Our Story
Founded in 2017, Get Rid of and Donate CIC (GROAD) began with a simple but powerful mission: to stop usable goods from going to waste and instead redirect them to individuals and families who need them most.
What started as a grassroots effort to tackle overconsumption and community inequality has grown into a recognised circular economy initiative serving boroughs across South London. From clothing and toys to food, tech, and household essentials, we’ve redistributed thousands of donated items, providing relief, dignity, and opportunity to those facing hardship.
Our work is built on the belief that waste is not just an environmental issue, it’s a social one. By giving quality pre-loved items a second life, we reduce landfill waste, cut emissions, and help alleviate poverty in our local communities.
Today, GROAD continues to bridge environmental sustainability with social impact, working hand-in-hand with individuals, families, local authorities, schools, and businesses to create a cleaner, fairer and more compassionate future.
